Mary Joseph GAME CHANGER

MJ’s Sewing Crochet and Craft. The acronym MJ stands for Mary Joseph who is known for her creativity, styles, and uniqueness. Her work consists of four main skills: Sewing, Fashion Design, Crochet, and Craft. Mary once stated, “ I have always known that I wanted to become a seamstress. Crafting came naturally as I love making things.” She started crafting with a close friend and got better and better until she decided to start her own business.

Mary is a 38-year-old from Grand Mal in the parish of St. George’s. She has over eighteen years of experiences in her craft. She started her own business on November 1^st, 2016. Mary is a certified Seamstress and with a desire to take her career further, she decided to enroll in T.A.M.C.C. Mary graduated in 2019 with honors and a degree in Fashion Design. She is currently awaiting the results of the Grenada Culture Wear Competition in which she was a participant.  “ I am very passionate about my work. When I am designing, be it crocheting an out fit or swimsuit, I would put my all into it. I would personally take the client’s measurement because everyone has a unique body, shape and size.”

Mary would ask specific questions to avoid any ambiguity or disappointments like: What’s the occasion? What time of the day the event will take place? What specific styles are you interested in? She would also give advice on the types of fabrics and fabric color to make certain that it will complement her client’s body contour, and skin tone. Her main objective is her client’s satisfaction and happiness. Mary sews for Weddings, Queen Shows, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Fashion Shows, Work Suits, and School Uniforms. She also crochets a variety of items like: Shoes, Sandals, and  Flowers to name a few.

Her Craft is another of her passion and she makes a variety. Her favorite is the bottle art which is recycled glass bottles. This can be utilized in a variety of ways as in Home and Workplace Decorations, Center Piece at events or filled with a variety of Fruit Wine. These bottles are reusable said Mary, “ just refill them with any drink you like, it can last a lifetime if you take care of it. You would not see them in stores. They are unique arts which can be custom made to suit your likeness that is why my business stands above the rest.”
