A must watch Spoken Word
I sat down to write a very different story tonight. But after a quick meditation, I felt compelled to write this. As I know very few people who push themselves harder than I do, I know many out there are running at a pace that they’re not accustomed to. And by doing so, they burn out.
Let me start by saying that I have an amazing self care regiment. I don’t smoke, drink, do drugs or consume caffeine. I rarely eat sweets, and I am a vegetarian of 35 years. I have a great social and spiritual life. And, I work out 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With that said, I recently burned out. I put in long hours every day. But recently, my health has slowed me down quite a bit. Which is frustrating, because I am getting calls from all around the world for new business projects. I’ve been turning away both good money and clients. I am trusting the source, and believe that God will lead me to the right people, places and projects.
Pace. I have found that when I control my daily pace, I control my success. It is trusting everything that I have taught my entire life. But here lately, the test has had some pretty big consequences. So I breathe deep and trust. I trust the natural pace of life. I trust the divine timing of the day. I embrace the choices that I make. No more what if’s….
Life has a rhythm. And if we control our pace…we flow. It is when we walk outside of the natural rhythm of life, bad things happen. And you will know. We’ve all had those days when we woke up late for work. We rush to our cars, forget our purse, briefcase or wallet. We spill our coffee in the car. We hit every single traffic light on the way to work. We get to work and believe we have to get caught up. All the while we’re trying to control the pace, yet the pace is controlling us.
There is a rhythm to life. Slow down and wait for that feeling of balance. Anything else, is a futile attempt to control the pace. You can lose a little. Or you can lose a lot. Better yet, you can dance to the rhythm and be at peace.

This is another Masterpiece. I love reading your blogs Vance. I learned from you sometime ago about dancing to the rhythm so I’m trying to control the pace. Thanks again for such beautiful writing.
I am happy you enjoyed it.
I really enjoy reading. I see a piece of me each time. I also, like that you show a resolution and an eye opener to this thing called life!
Thank you, Heather.
Vance, I agree. People should pace themselves and try not to out burn themselves. Everything has its time. It’s not worth risking your health by being burnt out. PACE YOURSELF!!
Well said, Asha.

Nice blog post. I connected on this one in particular on a deeper, more personal level. Thank you for the transparency and reminding how important it is to pace oneself and identify that natural rhythm of life we all walk in daily.
You’re welcome.
