Raniem Lewis is a seventeen-year-old artist residing at Crochu in St. Andrew’s who uses dry base materials to create his art pieces. Portraits, compositions and still life, among other things filled his portfolio for the last three years. “My pieces, at the beginning of my art journey, were nowhere near the level of detail or realism that they are at today, said Raniem. “My skills were, and will continue to be, refined through consistent, daily practice.
The artwork that Raniem selected is among the pieces that he is most proud of. “The materials I used to create this stunning piece, were shading pencils and charcoal pastels. If I were to win this competition, the funds would go towards purchasing a laptop, which would greatly aid my studies at college.”
