DALE NEPTUNE – is an icon and heroine to thousands of young Grenadians whose lives she has influenced and have had a positive impact. She is from very humble beginnings, born in the village of Grand Bras, St. Andrew’s, 0n October 2nd, 1974. She is the first of eleven children. At the primary level, Dale attended the St. Andrew’s R.C. School and her secondary education was at the St. Joseph ‘s Convent School, at Grenville, St. Andrew’s. These two institutions played a significant role in shaping Dale’s character and personality. At school she was an intelligent student and very active in extracurricular activities like Junior Achievers, hiking, Brownies and Girl guides clubs. She also enjoys activities such as singing, dancing, debating, and participating in sporting activities including long jump, netball.

Upon completing school, Dale was employed with the St. Andrew’s Development Organization (SADO) as the Executive Secretary/office manager where she played a key role in organizing the annual festival of Arts, craft and culture for several years. Ms. Neptune also worked for some time with the National Craft Centre as a Community Handicraft Coordinator. While at the Craft Centre she gained invaluable experience and hands on people’s skills working and organizing the producers of arts and craft.

Over the last two decades, Dale has accumulated a wealth of experience as a Community Organizer, Adult Literacy Trainer, Parenting Facilitator, Counselor and Social worker. As a result of her wide experience and engagement she has touched the lives of many particular, the young people of the Grenada. Most people describe her as very warm, amicable, dedicated, caring humble but very professional Lady.

At the moment, Ms. Neptune, is employed with the New Life Organization (NEWLO) whose mission is to provide vocational and life skills training for disadvantaged young men and women and people of all ages, religion and creed, facilitating growth and sustainable development of the individual in relation to the family, the community and the nation. She has been with the Organization for the last 13 years and was the Adolescent Development Program Coordinator at the St. Life Centre.

She also coordinated the European Development Fund/Ministry of Social Development/NEWLO Women’s Skills Training program where women over the ages of thirty-five (35) were trained in the areas of six different skills (Agro Processing, Short crop & Poultry Farming, Electrical, General Construction, Restaurant & Bartending) at the end the training the women were certified by the National Training Agency with Caribbean Vocational Qualification.

The training program at NEWLO commences with the Adolescent Development Program (ADP). Most of the young people who come to NEWLO come from families marked by cyclical violence and a good number of them spend their time on the streets where they are exposed to drugs and all kinds of risk factors.

Ms. Dale Neptune represented NEWLO at the 10th Anniversary celebrations of The Maria Holder Memorial Trust in Barbados on Saturday, July 27, 2019. She presented a citation on behalf of NEWLO. The Maria Holder Memorial Trust funded the new Maria Holder Centre at NEWLO, Palmiste. The facility houses the Hospitality Arts center and several other service centers. Dale is also involved with the Youth Emergency Action Committees (YEAC) and was awarded this year for her contribution and the Diocese of St. George’s Youth Dinery where she’s responsible for training the first responders and the young people in the area of personal Development and counseling building self-esteem and self confidence.

Dale is involved with many other activities with different organizations, community groups, church youth groups, Ministry of Social Development delivering life skills, parenting and literacy session throughout Grenada.

Ms. Dale Neptune loves keeping fit and staying healthy. She dances, hikes and enjoy the river and when she’s not outdoors, this beautiful and iconic daughter of the soil can be found reading or listening to her local island music.
