HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday to my Heartbeat. You are the air that I breathe. Without you, my life has no meaning.

It was a beautiful Wednesday evening twenty-seven years ago when you came into my world and my life has never been the same. That day, I became the proudest dad on record. There you were, I waited so long for you. Yessss, I said to myself, finally he is here, now I am a Dad.

I recall making several trips to Toys R Us to buy your pampers and formula. I had difficulties keeping up with you. You were growing so fast. Back then, we had no seat-belt regulations and I had you in the front seat as I drove around Brooklyn showing you off to everyone.

Relocating to the Sunshine State was arduous. The struggle is real. Life became incongruent but you give me the impetus to succeed. If wasn’t for you in my life, God alone knows where I would have been. You give me strength and fortitude. It’s no defeat, no surrender as long as I have you by my side I can win.

I love you man. I wish you nothing but the best.

 I am imperfect my son. No one gave me a blueprint to navigate this journey we call life. It’s all by trial and error. I made many mistakes and failed in many relationships, but this is one relationship that I am committed to. There are times I feel like giving up. I never knew that parenting can be soooo darn difficult, plus you piss me off many times too.

 I remembered going to your grandmother complaining about you, she then laughed stating, “the chicken has come home to roost”. I am in this for the long haul my son because love has no boundaries. I am with you until I take my last breath.

Happy birthday to my only begotten son for in you, I am well please.
